Suggest an object to be added to the Interactive Timeline

Introduction

Anyone can submit an entry to be added to the Histories of Northamptonshire Interactive Timeline. This could be an object, place (such as a building or landscape site), event, or story relating to the county's history.

To submit your entry, you’ll need to provide a main image to represent your object, along with a title, summary, and extended description. You can also include additional images and links to further information if you wish.

Fields marked as ‘optional’ do not need to be completed.

Privacy and attribution

You may choose to submit your entry anonymously. If you do provide your name or organisation, it will be credited alongside your entry on the timeline.

By completing and submitting this form, you give permission for the content (text, images, links) to be included on the timeline.

Object details

Provide a name or title for your object or timeline entry. This should be no longer than 10 words and should clearly indicate, in straightforward, non-specialist terms, what the object is - for example Roman pot or bowl from Hunsbury Hill villa rather than slip-trailed, carinated 1st century ceramic vessel.
Provide a summary or introductory sentence for your object that will be displayed on the timeline. This should be no more than 25 words long and written as complete sentences.
The description is your opportunity to provide more detail and depth for your object or entry. It might include physical details of the item - size, age, colour, material, manufacture, location - as well as more background information that sets it in the context of wider history either in Northamptonshire or nationally. This can be up to 200 words in length. You may also wish to include details of publications or other information relating to the object that people can explore further if interested.
Select the time period the object is known to be from. If your object spans more than one time period then please select the most relevant.
Please provide a more precise indication of the date or age of the object if known. This could be a century, monarchy or other time period, a year or even a precise date for example 1st century BCE, Queen Anne, Early Bronze Age, 1984.
Please share the location where the object was found or the place it relates to. If you are not sure you can leave this as Northamptonshire or alternatively if the object is on display in a museum or other publicly accessible then include this. Please do not enter any personal or private address information.
Please provide the URL for any freely accessible video that you feel may be of interest for those viewing your object. Include a brief description of the video's content. Please note that we reserve the right to remove any videos deemed inappropriate.
If you wish to be attributed with reference to the object you are submitting, please provide your name or the name of your organisation. If approved, the name provided will be published on the timeline alongside the object.

Please upload the main image of your object. This can be a photograph, drawn illustration, or other reproduction. The image file should be in JPEG or PNG format and no larger than 1MB in size.

Please feel free to add an additional image connected to your object. This can be a photograph, drawn illustration, or other reproduction. The image file should be in JPEG or PNG format and no larger than 1MB in size.
